10 Men 13 Women Swimmers Earn NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships

Yesterday, 23 swimmers were announced as recipients of 2016 NCAA Postgraduate scholarships. Each of the 10 men and 13 women were awarded the $7,500 prize.

According to the NCAA, the scholarship “was created in 1964 to promote and encourage postgraduate education by rewarding the Association’s most accomplished student-athletes.”

Men’s recipients include Alex Alfonso of DePauw University, Bradley Brooks of McDaniel College, Micah Cattell of Edinboro University, Percy Gates of Kenyon, and Charles Holliday of University of Iowa.

University of Texas’ Frederick LeMaistre and Rose-Hulman Institiute of Technology’s Orion Martin are also on the list. Fordham’s Steven Sholdra, University of Georgia’s Tynan Stewart, and Stanford’s Gray Umbach complete the men’s swimming recipients.
