Ames took the 2015 Iowa state girls’ title on Saturday, celebrating their fourth title in five years after finishing second at last years state championships. The meet was highlighted by a state record in the 100 backstroke by Ames sophomore Sophie Sorenson, as well as sweep of all three relays. Ames will return all scorers next year, as they did not have a single senior on their roster. Muscatine’s Sarah Schemmel was named outstanding swimmer of the meet after winning the 50 (23.24) and 100 (50.51) freestyles.
