Jay Litherland may be the name you thought you’d never see on the Olympic roster. The 20-year-old Georgia Bulldog trained with Bob Bowman leading up to the 2016 Olympic Trials. He raced two of the toughest competitors in the sport, Michael Phelps and Chase Kalisz, on a daily basis. This paid off when he was pitted against one of the most tenacious IMers in swimming history at the Trials, Ryan Lochte.

Georgia Bulldogs teammates have said that no one can finish a race like Jay Litherland. So we rest assured that he’ll be ready to hunt Olympians down in that final 50 in Rio.
