National Junior Teamer and Pinnacle High School’s Aaron Apel, Georgia Bulldog commit, picked up two victories yesterday in the 200 and 500 freestyles going 1:40.54 and 4:23.68 (new personal best) respectively. These events are considered more “sprint” events for Apel as his specialities expand into the mile as well as the 10k.
But in the end, Apel’s Pinnacle was no match for Brophy College Prep. The team of Alexander Gomez, Patrick Schramm, Michael Niezgodski, and AJ Frakes won the 200yd Medley Relay in a time of 1:35.15. This was a very narrow victory over Boulder Creek High School, who  touched .21 behind for silver. Desert Vista came in third, but were winning the relay with one leg to go.
