Adam Peaty Surges To Top Of World Rankings In 100 Breaststroke

Day one of the 2016 British National Championships has commenced with Adam Peaty jumping to the top of the world rankings in the 100 breaststroke.

Kickstarting the meet was the men’s 400-meter free where James Guy of jumped to first with a time of 3:48.74. Not to be left behind, though, was Stephen Milne of who finished with a time of 3:48.81. Timothy Shuttleworth rounded out the top three with a 3:49.11. With the qualifying standard sitting at a 3:44.81 the men will have to pick up the pace a bit to dip below.

Guy’s splits: 26.34, 28.19, 28.69, 28.67, 28.88, 28.97, 29.39, 29.61–3:48.74
