Aleksandr Sadovnikov picked up another fast time with a swift effort in the men’s 100-meter fly at the 2016 Russian Nationals.
Sadovnikov won the finale in a time of 51.50, moving him to fifth in the world. Â Li Zhuhao (51.24), Konrad Czerniak (51.31), Laszlo Cseh (51.40) and Piero Codia (51.42) are the only swimmers faster so far this year.
Evgeny Koptelov, meanwhile posted a second-place 52.05 to also beat the Russian Olympic selection time for a spot on the Olympic roster.
