The Class 3A Florida State Championship meet began at 9 in the morning with some fast swims at prelims. Later the same day, the fastest swimmers once again took to the pool to swim at finals.
The girls’ meet came down to the wire, with the state title determined by less than a point. Bartram Trail defeated the 2015 champion Gainesville by a score of 176.5 to 176. Chiles finished in third scoring 165.5 points.
Niceville topped the field in the 200 medley relay, followed swiftly by Creekside and Bartram Trail.
