Brazier Leads LIU Post Women On METS Championships Day One

The Metropolitan Conference Championships day one finals were completed tonight. The men’s and women’s 200 free relay, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free and 400 medley relay were swam. The women’s 200 free relay and 50 free METS records were broken.

LIU Post won the women’s 200 free relay in the time of 1:32.03. With this time the team of Laura Benfeldt (23.83), Seren Jones (22.95), Joyce Kwok (22.81) and Meghan Brazier (22.44) broke their previous METS record of 1:33.69. The College of New Jersey took silver (1:34.15) with Nina Stegu (23.83), Tatiana Shepel (23.24), Alja Tavcar (24.13) and Yekaterina Gakhokidze (22.95).Ramapo College of NJ came in for the bronze with a 1:37.73 with the team of Meghan Trewhella (25.10), Brenda Arthur (24.53), Julia Housel (24.77) and Maggie Herbert (23.33).
