Florida’s Caeleb Dressel lit up prelims with the second-fastest 50-yard free of all time, while NC State led the way in the men’s 200-yard free relay qualifying at the 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Championships.

NC State’s Simonas Bilis (18.76), Ryan Held (18.65), Joe Bonk (19.45) and Andreas Schiellerup (18.89) raced their way to the top seed in 1:15.75.  Bilis moved up to ninth all time in the men’s 50 free with that leadoff.

NC State is looking to win its first NCAA relay title in team history.  The team has some time to drop, however, to break the NCAA record of 1:14.08 set by Auburn during the techsuit-fueled 2009 NCAA Championships.
