Caeleb Dressels Big Day Propels Gators

Florida (No. 3 men, No. 9 women) knocked off Southeastern Conference rival Tennessee (No. 12 men, No. 13 women) on Saturday. The Gator men won 185-115 and the women knocked off the Volunteers 170-130.

The day started off well for Tennessee. The Volunteers too the top two spots on the women’s 200-yard medley relay. The team of backstroker Kira Toussaint, breaststroker Colleen Callahan, butterflier Madeline Banic and freestyler Faith Johnson won with a time of 1:40.13.

Florida took the men’s race by four-hundredths of a second. The Gator team of backstroker Jack Blyzinskyj, breaststroker Mark Szaranek, butterflier Jan Switkowski and freestyler Caeleb Dressel posted a winning time of 1:26.27.

Dressel picked up three event wins on the day. The U.S. National Team member won the 100-yard breaststroke (53.07), 50-yard freestyle (19.41) and 200-yard individual medley (1:46.40).
