Canadian Olympic Trials RunnerUp Olivia Anderson Reloads Georgias Distance Squad

The University of Georgia’s Class of 2021 grew again with a verbal commitment from Olivia Anderson. Anderson hails from Mississauga, Canada where she is a distance swimmer training under Kevin Thorburn at Etobicoke Swimming.

Anderson will bring a wealth of experience with her to Athens. At Canadian Olympic Trials in April, Anderson finished runner up (8:38.34) to Georgia Bulldog and NCAA Champion Brittany Maclean in the 800 freestyle. This summer at Junior Pan Pacific Championships, she was a leader for the Canadian team. Anderson touched third in the 800 freestyle (8:32.34), fifth in the 400 free (4:14.20) and second in the 1500 (16:18.66).
