Division II Meet Recap Drury Splits With Missouri St

The recently top-ranked Drury women took on Division I Missouri State and showed why they deserve that #1 spot. Read the recap of that meet as well as Nova’s contest against conference rival Lynn below.

The Nova Southeastern University women’s swimming team faced off against conference rival Lynn at home this weekend, collecting their third dual meet win for the year with a final score of 172-88.

Recently ranked #3 in the country behind Drury and Queens University of Charlotte on the women’s side, the Sharks continued to show why they are a top tier team in Division II swimming. While mixing up their swimmers in a weaker event line-up, several of the Sharks still managed to post impressive times for this point in the season. Emma Wahlstrom took the 100 backstroke (56.44) and 100 freestyle (51.49), both NCAA B cuts and good enough for the third ranked time in the country in both events. Courtney DeVeney was just off her own third ranked time in the 400 IM, posting a provisional qualifying time of 4:28.88 to take the event. While Nova won most of the events contested, Lynn’s Galea Berraud did sweep the distance free events for the Fighting Knights, placing first in the 1,000 free (10:30.44) and 500 free (5:07.83). Full meet results can be found here.
