Division II Meet Recap Queens Falls To Emory

This week saw a high profile match-up between the defending NCAA Division II Champions Queens University of Charlotte and Division III powerhouse Emory in addition to some tight match-ups down in Florida. Read below to see this week’s Division II meet recap!

In a match-up that featured two of the best schools in Division II and Division III swimming, the Emory Eagles came away with two wins against Division II NCAA Champions Queens University of Charlotte. The men came away with a 153-109 win over the Royals, while the Emory women just edged out the Royals, 136-126.

On the men’s side, Queens only came away with 3 event wins, all from junior Dion Dreesens. He touched first in the 200 free (1:40.89), 200 butterfly (1:52.87), 100 free (45.63). The women’s meet was a much closer contest, with Queens University taking 7 of the 12 events but still falling to Emory by 10 points. This was a close meet from event to event, with Emory working their way back in the second half to ultimately claim victory. Junior McKenzie Stevens was a double event winner in the 1,000 (10:26.59) and 500 (5:04.17) freestyles, while sophomore Josephina Lorda won the 200 free (1:51.40), 200 butterfly (2:07.96), and 200 IM (2:06.71).
