A day after suspending the Mexican Swimming Federation, FINA announced the hosts of the 2021 and 2023 FINA World Championships as Fukuoka and Doha.
FINA Press Release:
The Japanese city of Fukuoka will host the 2021 edition of the FINA World Championships and the FINA World Masters Championships, while Doha in Qatar will host the same two competitions in 2023. The decision was made after the vote of the FINA Bureau today in Budapest (HUN), some hours before the staging of the FINA World Aquatics Gala – Soirée des Etoiles.
The city of Nanjing (CHN) was the third bidder for the organisation of these Championships.
