Gabriele Detti raced his way to second in the world in the men’s 400-meter free at the 2016 City of Milan Trophy meet. Â The event was a two-day timed final long course competition.
Detti posted a 3:46.59 to move to second in the world behind only David McKeon’s 3:46.48 from the NSW Championships.
Dimitrios Dimitriou touched second overall in 3:50.81, while Gregorio Paltrinieri took third in 3:51.20 after moving to the top of the world in the 1500 free yesterday.
Martina Carraro also claimed a runner-up world ranking with a 30.79 in the women’s 50-meter breast. Â Only Ruta Meilutyte is faster with a 30.40 split from the Edinburgh International meet. Â Lisa Angiolini (31.92) and Ilaria Scarcella (32.02) rounded out the top three today.
