Jose Martinez Texas AM Down SMU

Coming off of a win against LSU, The Texas A&M men continued to excell with a 143-98 win over Southern Methodist University.

The Aggies started off the day with a first and second place finish in the 400-yard medley relay. SMU’s top team finished nearly six seconds behind the top Texas A&M team. The winning Aggie team of backstroker Brock Bonetti, breaststroker Mauro Castillo Luna, butterflier Turker Ayar and freestyle Jacob Gonzales touched in 3:11.70.

SMU’s Lucas Schenke took the first event of the day: the 1000-yard freestyle. Schenke touched in 9:15.33, over a second ahead of Texas A&M’s Mitch Glander. The Mustangs continued to roll in the 200-yard freestyle. Christian Scherubl took first with a time of 1:37.20.

Ziga Cerkonvik won the 50-yard freestyle for SMU. The 21-year old touched in 20.25. The Aggies picked up second, third, fourth and fifth place finishes in the event.
