Justin Morrell Michael Lagieski Lead Wash U Past Wabash

After defeating Illinois Wesleyan last night, Wabash fell to Washington University St. Louis this afternoon. In Wednesday’s newest CSCAA rankings, the Bears are 12th and Wabash is no longer ranked.

Diving was the highlight of Wabash’s day as Max Von Deylen claimed the one meter with 245.95 points and his teammate Aaron Embree topped the three meter board with a score of 253.75. Elliot Johns was Wabash’s only swimmer to post a top time, as he claimed the 200 freestyle (1:44.94).

Once Wash U went exhibition at the end of the meet, Wabash’s Zechariah Banks earned first place points in the 200 IM in a time of 1:59.48. Wabash’s 200 freestyle relay team of Wyatt Tarter, Johns, Dylan Miller, and Christopher McGue claimed first in a time of 1:27.74.

On the way to their win, Wash U saw two swimmers post double victories. Justin Morrell won both sprint events. He finished the 50 in 21.74 seconds while his teammate Ross Brown was third in a 22.13. Wabash’s Johns was second (21.79). Morrell claimed the 100 in a 47.34 while teammate Brown was again second, this time in a 48.32. Johns rounded out the top three (48.45).
