Seventeen short course yards US Masters national records fell on day three of the championship, taking place in Greensboro, North Carolina. The 50 freestyle was the only event where all of the records stayed on the books.
Jim McConica set the first national record of the day in the 65-69 year old men’s 500 freestyle, finishing in 5:29.10, five seconds under the old mark.
Charlotte Davis recorded her third national mark in two days, stopping the clock at 1:10.12 in the 65-69 year old 100 butterfly. She reset another standard with her 2:35.07 in the 200 IM.
