Katinka Hosszu Cruises to 4 Wins In Day One of Sparsely Attended FFN Golden Tour Stop

Taking advantage of a lack of serious competition, Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu managed to win four times on day one of the FFN Golden Tour Stop in Nice today.  The long course meter meet held all of the distance and the bulk of the sprint events on day one.

Hosszu won the women’s 800-meter free in 8:39.89 to start the day as she’s looking for some easy money here in Nice with a truckload of events.  Lara Grangeon placed second in 8:49.65 with Alizee Morel earning third in 8:50.37.

Damien Joly topped the men’s 800-meter free in 7:56.78.  Joris Bouchaut finished second in 8:02.28 with Paul Barascud taking third in 8:09.00.

In a surprising scheduling quirk, meet organizers held the 1500s immediately after the 800s with Hosszu collecting the women’s 1500-meter free prize in 16:55.85.  Celia Heurtaux (17:55.93) and Lea D’Agostino (18:05.06) finished second and third.
