On the final day of the Illinois High School State Championships, one of the most exciting races was saved for the end with the record breaking relay swim that came from Lake Forest.
Lake Forest blew away the field and set a state record with the team of Daria Pyshnenko (50.78), Madeline Smith (50.64), Haley Nelson (51.84) and Reilly Lanigan (50.32) coming together to post a time of 3:23.58, which upset Glenview’s 2012 record of 3:24.50. They were followed by Rosary, whose team of Young (52.00), Emily Ryan (50.66), Linda Licari (51.94) and Yager (51.84) posted a time of 3:26.44, while St. Charles North was third in 3:27.74 with the efforts of Samantha Sauer (51.73), Audrey Guyett (51.35), Jillian Waslawski (53.13), and Monica Guyett (51.53).
