Leonardo De Deus Posts 5thBest 200 Fly in World Kaio Almeida Makes 4th Olympics

Brazil will have a pair of swimmers in the men’s 200-meter fly at the Rio Olympics as well.

Leonardo De Deus led the way with a 1:55.54 for the win. That swim moved him up to a tie for fifth in the world with Li Zhuhao.  It also clinched a spot on the Rio Olympic team.

Kaio Almeida, who retired after the 2012 London Olympics completed a successful comeback by making the 2016 squad with a second-place 1:56.21.  Almeida also competed in the 2004 and 2008 Olympics after first breaking onto the international scene as an 18 year old at the 2003 World Championships.
