Day seven of the 2016 Chinese Nationals featured another dynamite 100 fly from Li Zhuhao and a top ten showing from Chen Xinyi in the 50 free.
Liu Yaxin and Chen Jie kept it close in finals of the women’s 200-meter backstroke posting final times .28 seconds apart. Yaxin powered ahead to finish first with a time of 2:10.01 over Jie’s 2:10.29. Rounding out the top three finishers was Cheng Haihua with a time of 2:11.73.
Li Zhuhao of Zhejiang powered ahead of the competition in the men’s 100-meter fly to touch first with a time of 51.24. Zhuhao’s time rockets him to the top of the world rankings for 2016. A pair of 52’s from Zhang Qi Bin (52.34) and Zhou Jiawei (52.44) completed the top three.
