Louisville Adds Ashlyn Schoof To 2017 Roster With Verbal Commit

Ashlyn Schoof, a native of Muskego, WI, has announced her verbal commitment to compete for the University of Louisville beginning in the fall of 2017.

A senior at Muskego High School, Schoof does not compete for her high school, but instead swims year-round for Schroeder YMCA Swim Team. Earlier this summer Schoof competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials in both the 100-meter and 200-meter backstrokes before taking her talents to the 2016 Speedo Junior Nationals in Minnesota.

Schoof is part of an elite group of 18-and-under girls being one of only 21 to have ever posted a sub-52 second time in the 100-yard backstroke. With her current 100-yard backstroke time sitting at a 51.98 Schoof has put herself in contention for the ACC Championship title and will add to Louisville’s medley relays.

Schoof’s 100 backstroke personal best of 51.98 would have earned her fourth place at the 2016 ACC Championships, while her 200 backstroke best of 1:54.35 would’ve been sixth overall.
