In prelims of the 100 breaststroke this morning at the US Olympic Trials 17 year old Michael Andrew broke his own National Age Group record and the World Junior Record.

He stopped the clock in 59.96, clearing the minute barrier for the first time in his career. He took the World Junior mark from Anton Chupkov who posted a 1:00.12 in August.

Just last weekend in this very pool, Andrew broke the National Age Group record in prelims and in finals. In the morning he was a 1:00.46, just .01 slower than Kevin Cordes‘ record, and at night he clocked a 1:00.37.
