Numerous Career Bests Highlight Carolina College Invitational

The annual Carolina College Invitational was Feb. 5-7 in Chapel Hill. Duke, NC State, North Carolina, James Madison, Towson, William and Mary, and Virginia Tech were in attendance. The meet was not scored.

North Carolina’s Zhada Fields won the women’s 500 free, and NC State’s John Poff won the men’s event (4:24.90). The Tar Heels went 1-2-3 in the women’s 200 IM, led by Rachel Canty (2:00.19). NC State’s Geoffrey Carter took the men’s 200 IM (1:48.93).

Duke’s Kathryn Eckhart touched the wall first in the women’s 50 free (23.08), and the Tar Heel’s James Casey (20.52) just out touched the Blue Devils’ Benedict Parfit in the men’s 50 free.
