Olympic Village Housing Problems Persist As The Games Creep Closer

With the days continuing to count down towards the start of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games concern continues to grow in Rio’s preparation for the Games. Last weekend when the first countries had an opportunity to move into the Olympic Village the Australian Olympic team refused to move in, citing “blocked toilets, leaking pipes, and exposed wiring” as just some of the problems in the Village.

The Aussie’s are now expected to move in on soon as it has been reported that their problems were fixed and work on the Village has been occurring round the clock.

Several countries have since expressed problems with the athlete dorms in Rio, including Belarus, Kenya, Sweden, and Argentina. Similar to the Aussies, the women’s Swedish soccer team refused to move in after seeing the state of the apartments, leaving the Village by taxi.
