Oregon State Drops Final Dual Meet of Season to Boise State

By Sarah Lloyd, Swimming World College Intern

In the final dual meet of the regular season, the Oregon State Beavers hosted the Boise State Broncos for a two-day dual meet format. While senior Sammy Harrison had an individual event win and a strong showing overall, the Beavers ultimately dropped the meet by a score of 150-104.

The meet began with a second place finish from the Oregon State team of Amani Amr, Czarina Isleta, Andrea Young, and Claire McLaggin who touched the wall with a 1:48.60 in the 200 medley relay. Sammy Harrison kept the Beavers on track with a win in the 1000 free–her 10:18.25 was about nine seconds ahead of second place finisher Amelia Draney, a sophomore from Boise State. The senior Constance Toulemonde was the highest finisher from Oregon State in the 200 free; her 1:55.95 was good enough for fourth.

The Beavers picked up a couple of second place finishes with the junior Isleta’s 100 breast (1:05.39) and freshman Megan Lam‘s 200 fly (2:10.92). Boise State swept the 50 free and 200 back, while the junior Andrea Young was the fastest woman from Oregon State in the 100 free, nabbing third with a 54.10.
