Reece Whitley Clocks Quick 100 Breast on Day 2 of 2015 NCAP Invitational

Day two of the 2015 Nation’s Capital Invitational continued with fast swims all around. Reece Whitley set the tone for the evening when he delivered a sizzling 52.56 to win the boy’s open 100 breaststroke. Whitley’s time was quicker than the previous National Age Group record of 52.83 set in 2014 by Carsten Vissering, but he was not the only quick breaststroker swimming today. Michael Andrew turned in a final time of 52.50 at the 2015 USA Swimming Junior Nationals West meet to claim the official NAG record.

Nation Capital’s Anna Belousova finished first in the girls open 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.58. Kaki Christensen of Chelsea Piers Aquatics Club (CPAC) was second with a time of 1:01.41, while Allie Szekely of Central Bucks (CBST) took third with a 1:01.70.

Katie Ledecky of Nation Capital surged ahead of the competition in the girls open 200 freestyle with a final time of 1:41.04. Teammate Morgan Hill grabbed second in the event with a time of 1:46.99, and Rachael Burnett of Machine Aquatics was third with a 1:48.52.
