Sarah Kohler claimed the women’s 800-meter freestyle title in a time of 8:22.80. Â That swim was well under the German Olympic selection time of 8:33.33, and moved her up to fourth in the world. Â Only Katie Ledecky (8:06.68), Jessica Ashwood (8:18.42) and Brittany MacLean (8:21.40) have been faster.
Leonie Black also cleared the German selection time of 8:33.33 with an 8:33.13 for second-place honors.
Lea Boy wound up taking third in 8:37.82, while Julia Hassler snagged fourth in 8:40.51.
