The Royal Spanish Swimming Federation has released a finalized Olympic roster. Spain will send 23 swimmers to the 2016 Games. In March, 11 athletes qualified at the 2016 Spanish Spring Championships. That list has since grown by 12.
The men will have 13 swimmers racing: Márkel Alberdi, Antonio Arroyo, Miguel Durán, Hugo González, Aitor MartÃnez, VÃctor M. MartÃn, Bruno Ortiz-Cañavate, Miguel Ortiz-Cañavate, Carlos Peralta, Albert Puig, Joan LLuìs Pons, Marc Sánchez and Eduardo Solaeche.
In March, none of the men notched qualification times in more than one event. In this release, Bruno and Miguel Ortiz-Cañavate, Alberdi, Martinez, Puig, Sanchez, and Martin are all only listed for relays.
Two time Olympic silver medalist Mireia Belmonte leads the women, with qualification times in the 400 and 800 freestyles, 200 butterfly, and 200 and 400 IM.
