Amanda Weir will swim in her third Olympic Games this summer.
The 30 year old veteran spoke about her role on the team this year and reflected on the fresh energy the youngsters are bringing to this summer’s group. She also told the story of her start in the sport.
Weir will be a member of the 400 freestyle relay, after finishing third in the 100 at Trials. In 2012 she was a member of that relay when it earned a bronze medal. Weird made her Olympic debut in 2004 when the team broke the American record in the 400 freestyle relay. Weir still holds the American Record in the 100 meter freestyle.
