It seems that Katharine Berkoff, 14, of Missoula Aquatic Club was born to swim–and she excels at it with grace and ease! The young Berkoff trains with her father, Olympian David Berkoff, and has followed in his footsteps by becoming a successful backstroker.
Berkoff ended the long course season with a sixth-place ranking in the 100 back (1:03.65) and a ninth-place ranking in the 200 back (2:18.16). She also succeeded in taking down Sarah Robson’s 31-year old Montana state record in the girls 13-14 50 free. Berkoff clocked a 27.44 to overturn Robson’s 27.51 from 1984.
