Indiana freshman Lilly King twice set the American record in the women’s 100 breast on Friday. She clocked 57.15 in the prelims to clip Breeja Larson’s old mark of 57.23, and then she shattered that mark in finals with a 56.85. Afterwards, King explained what in her training had contributed to her massive time drops and contemplated whether the title “American record-holder” had yet set in.
