In today’s press conferences in Omaha Simone Manuel spoke about her expectations for the week ahead. The 19 year old noted how this year’s Trials is different than her experience in 2012. The NCAA champion said she will draw on experiences like World Championships to manage everything from crowded warmups to an excited crowd and a race with a lot on the line.
Manuel answered a number of questions about her redshirt year at Stanford, and the benefits of focusing on long course. She was also asked about the 200 freestyle, which she believes helps her sprint events.
