Wagner C Connecticut Start Fast At NEC Champs

Day one of the Northeast Conference Championships consisted of two relays.

The night started with the 200-yard medley relay. Wagner College took first place with a time of 1:40.52. The Seahawk team consisted of backstroker Anu Nihipali, breaststroker Katja Claesson, butterflier Michelle Detka and freestyler Dorian McMenemy. Central Connecticut State finished in second place over a second and a half later. The team of backstroker Kaitlyn Troy, breaststroker Maddy Garber, butterflier Sabree Thomas and freestyler Lauren Rasile finished in 1:42.19. The LIU Brooklyn team of backstroker Nathalie Meyers, breaststroker Milly Furneaux, butterflier Katelyn Coleman and freestyler Oleksandra Kashyrina touched third in 1:42.45.

St. Francis, Bryant, Sacred Heart and St. Francis College (New York) rounded out the finishing teams. Mount Saint Mary’s disqualified.
