Washington State To Host Four Home Meets in 20162017 Season

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State swimming team will host four home meets during the 2016-17 season, head coach Tom Jager announced Wednesday.

The Cougars, who recorded eight dual meet victories last season including wins over Arizona State, Oregon State, Nebraska and Utah, will open the season hosting perennial Top-10 program USC at Gibb Pool Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. The Trojans finished last season ranked sixth and will be making their first trip to Pullman since 2013.

Two weeks later Washington State will head to Northern California to face Stanford University Oct. 20 and defending national champion University of California Oct. 21.

WSU will close out the month of October hosting UCLA Oct. 29, the first trip to Pullman for the Bruins since 2014. Jager swam collegiately at UCLA in the early 1980’s and claimed five NCAA titles before going to earning seven Olympic medals including five gold medals.
