Xin Xin Wins First Gold Medal For China At Chunan Stop Of FINAHOSA 10K MSWC

The sixth stop of the FINA/HOSA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup concluded yesterday in Chun’an with China winning its first ever gold medal in the series.

Xin Xin, 20, took first in the women’s 10K race when she posted a final time of 2:05:55.80 to win China’s first ever gold medal while on her home soil.

Finishing second was Cecilia Biagioli of Argentina with a time of 2:06:37.10, just ahead of Italy’s Arianna Bridi (2:06:37.70), who was the winner at the Lac Megantic leg of the series.

Simone Ruffini of Italy claimed another gold medal on the men’s side, posting a final time of 1:56:01.30. Ruffini has collected medals at three previous stops: silver at Patagones-Viedma, bronze in Abu Dhabi, and gold at Balatonfured.
