20 National Records Tumble at Day 2 of US Masters Nationals

In the second day of action at the 2016 US Masters Nationals, 20 national records fell in 13 events.

Fall Willeboordse set the 50-54 year old women’s national record in the 100 IM, touching in 1:01.28, faster than her own record set two weeks ago. In the 100 freestyle, Willeboordse posted a 53.60, nearly a second faster than the 54.38 record from 2002. Charlotte Davis set a 65-69 year old national record in the 100 IM with her time of 1:10.09, well under the old record of 1:12.22. She also set a new national mark in her 100 freestyle, finishing in 1:00.49.

Mike Freshley touched in 1:08.70 to set a new national record for the 75-79 year old men’s 100 IM. Thomas Maine reset the national mark for the 90-94 year olds with his time of 1:53.38.
