Alexandra Wenk Lowers 200 IM German National Record in Finals

Alexandra Wenk lowered the German National record again tonight in the 200 IM, touching in 2:11.33. This morning at German Nationals she posted a 2:11.41. Tonight’s time is the 12th best in the world this year. Her morning and night swims clear the German Olympic qualifying standards.

Second place went to Maxine Wolters in 2:13.90. Wolters hit the prelims Olympic standard, but came up short of the necessary 2:12.91 in finals.

Katarzyna Baranowska won bronze with her 2:14.72.
