David Guthrie Steve Wood Set Masters National Records

Three national records fell at the 2016 USMS South Central Zone Short Course Championship, held April 8-10.

Steve Wood set the new national record in the 100 IM for the 55-59 year old age group. Wood stopped the clock in 55.85, faster than Timothy Shead‘s record of 56.20, from May 2008.

David Guthrie broke the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke national records for the 55 to 59 year old age group. Guthrie swam a 1:00.34 in the 100 yard event, which improved his own 1:00.91 set in March. He then went on to post a 2:11.95 in the 200, faster than his own 2:16.14 from March.
