Dylan Cudahy Stays in State Commits to University of Virginia

Dylan Cudahy has opted to stay in state with a verbal commitment to the University of Virginia, according to an announcement he made via Twitter.

The Machine Aquatics swimmer is a rising senior at Herndon High School. Representing his high school at the Virginia 6A state championships, he has finished as high as runner up in the 500 freestyle. His best time in that event stands at 4:29.93. His top 1000 yard freestyle is a 9:20.32 and he has posted a 15:26.95 in the 1650.

The future Cavalier has the potential to compete the endurance trifecta at the conference level with a 3:53.50 lifetime best in the 400 IM.

At the 2016 ACC Championships, his 1650 would have finished 22nd, good for three points at the conference championship. This year, UVA had three freshmen and one sophomore score in that event. By the time Cudahy arrives in Charlottesville in the fall of 2017, he will have two years to train alongside that distance group.
