Ksenia Yuskova Transferring from Miami to Houston

Former University of Miami (Fla.) freestyler Ksenia Yuskova will transfer to the University of Houston and will compete during the 2016-17 season, Swimming and Diving Head Coach Ryan Wochomurka announced Thursday.

Yuskova will join previously announced Hanna Blewett, Zarena Brown, Lauren Burrell, Gaby Jimenez, Peyton Kondis, Laura Laderoute, Sydney Larson, Claire Liptak, Emily Longfellow, Hannah Middleton, Victoria Roubique and Isabel Tank to make up the 2016 signing class.

“Ksenia is a huge addition to an incoming group that has the ability to significantly sharpen our already upward trajectory as a program,” Wochomurka said. “Her experience on the collegiate and international level allows her to have an immediate and significant impact individually, and on our relays.”

The Moscow, Russia, native comes to Houston after two years with the Hurricanes and will compete as a junior in 2016-17. Yuskova is a Junior European champion in the 200-meter freestyle and finished second in the 400-meter freestyle in 2012. At the 2012 World Championships she was a member of the second-place 800-meter freestyle relay team.
