Martina Carraro lowered the Italian record in the women’s 100-meter breast at the 2016 Italian Nationals.
Carraro raced her way to a 1:06.41. Â That swim broke the 2009 Italian record of 1:08.86 set by Ilaria Scarcella. Carraro’s time also moved her up to sixth in the world rankings this year.
Scarcella, meanwhile, finished second overall in 1:08.46, missing the FINA A cut of 1:07.85.
