Michael Andrew Downs 100 Breast NAG Record By 01 Seconds

Michael Andrew stopped at the Omaha Cup for a pre-Olympic Trials tune-up after a 2016 season that has been both up and down. Andrew, a resident of Kansas, entered the meet in the 100 breaststroke and 50 free.

Andrew succeeded in turning heads one week before the Trials are slated to begin with a National Age Group record of 1:00.46 in the 100 breaststroke. That time overturns current U.S. National Team member Kevin Cordes’ 17-18 NAG record of 1:00.47. Cordes originally set the record at the age of 18 while swimming at the 2012 U.S. Open.
