Michalak Breaks Another NSICSC Record In Womens 100 Butterfly

Day two of the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships began this morning. The prelims competition of the men’s and women’s 400 IM, 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle were swam. The women’s 100 butterfly NSISC record was broken.

Delta’s Melanie Tombers came in at a 4:24.93 in the 400 IM for the fastest time this morning. her teammate Kierstin Page touched in second with a 4:29.20 and West Florida’s Madeline Pitt, who won the 1000 free yesterday, finished third in a 4:31.70.

Theresa Michalak of West Florida had another memorable swim after her record breaking 200 IM last night. Michalak touched the wall first in the women’s 100 butterfly with a 54.79 this morning. With this time she broke her teammate, Peggy de Villiers‘ NSISC record of 54.84. de Villiers touched the wall second this morning in a 56.36 and close behind was Kylie Gaeth of Minnesota State Mako with a 56.73.
