Nils WichGlasen Dominates In South Carolina Loss

The men’s showdown between No. 19 South Carolina and No. 22 Duke did not disappoint. The meet went down to the last race, as Duke won 144-139.

The Duke women did not have nearly as stressful of a meet as their male teammates. The Blue Devils outscored the Gamecocks 187-113.

Duke got off to a fast start, winning both the women’s and men’s 200-yard medley relay. The women’s team of backstroker Mickayla Hinkle, breaststroker Leah Goldman, butterflier Isabella Paez and freestyler Maddie Hess posted a time of 1:41.47, winning by over half a second.

In the men’s event, Duke’s team of backstroker Kazuma Takabayashi, breaststroker Peter Kropp, butterflier David Armstrong and freestyler James Peek won by nearly three seconds. The team posted a time of 1:27.77.
