Members of SwimMAC Carolina’s Team Elite, including five-time Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte, competed on Saturday in Huntersville, N.C. as their final tune-up for the U.S. Olympic Trials later this month. In addition to swimmers from the host SwimMAC, the meet’s evening session featured member’s of North Carolina’s swim team as well as a trio from the South Carolina Swim Club.
Lochte opened the evening with a win in the 200 free, where he posted a time of 1:49.17. He later swam a 1:02.19 in the 100 breast for by far the best time of the competition.
Cammile Adams put up a strong effort in her signature 200 fly. Adams clocked 2:07.59 for the 14th-fastest time in the world this year and the top time by an American.
Katie Meili, who ranks 10th in the world in the 100 breast with a 1:06.49, came in at 1:07.10 in her signature event on Saturday.
