Sarah Sjostrom Pops a 2422 in 50 Free in Sweden

Sarah Sjostrom, who already leads the world with a 24.17 from the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series, won the women’s 50-meter free in 24.22 as the second-best time in the world this year at the 2016 Swedish Open in Stockholm.

Aliaksandra Herasimenia placed second in 24.71, just off her sixth-ranked season best of 24.70.  Therese Alshammar took third in 24.96.

Viktoria Zeynep Gunes moved from eighth in the world to sixth with a 2:23.97 in the women’s 200-meter breast.  Jenna Laukkanen took second in 2:27.24 with Jessica Eriksson snaring third in 2:29.22.

Frederico Turrini jumped to 10th in the world rankings with a 4:17.45 in the men’s 400-meter IM.  Adam Paulsson took second in 4:20.33 with Henrik Christiansen earning third in 4:20.34.
