Katie Meili swam her final tune-up race for the U.S. Olympic Trials later this month on Saturday night at the Road to Rio meet in Huntersville, N.C. She clocked a 1:07.10 in the 100 breast, an impressive effort for three weeks away from her taper meet even if she has already swum a 1:06.54 this season. Afterwards, Meili discussed how much faster the event has become over the past year and what she thinks it will take to finish in the top-two at Trials. She also explained her feelings about finally arriving at the one meet she has been pointing to since she graduated from college three years ago.
