Video Interview Dalton Herendeen Changes Training Base in Lead Up to Paralympic Trials

Dalton Herendeen is vying for one of 10 men’s spots on the 2016 Paralympic Team. On the final night of Trials, he swam the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke. He won the SM10 200 IM in 2:20.69 and finished second in the S10 100 backstroke with a 1:05.45.

However, Herendeen’s 100 breaststroke is his focus, and the event he hopes will send him to Rio. On Thursday he won the SB8 class with a 1:15.36.

The 23 year old spoke about his training in this year leading up to Trials. After his collegiate career ended at the University of Indianapolis, he spent the past year as the Assistant Coach at the University of Mary Washington. In Fredericksburg, he trained with head coach Abby Brethauer.
